My earliest memory of being creative…
At the age of four, I won my first coloring contest. The contest consisted of decorating a drawing of the Easter Bunny. My mom took me back to High’s Ice Cream so I could redeem my prize.
I remember looking up at all of the entries taped to the windows of High’s. A blue first place ribbon was on my drawing! Among the brown, white, black colored Easter Bunnies was my entry. It was different. Multi-colored polka dots covered the Easter Bunny. My love of color started then, I suppose.
Thank you, Mom, for being the most creative person in my life. Thanks for always believing in me when I color “outside the lines”. You are an inspiration.
